Lamb was chosen Artist of the Year in 1991 for the nationally recognized Southeastern Wildlife Exposition in Charleston, SC. His work was also selected for the national Birds in Art show, which traveled to Japan and can be seen in North Light's book, The Best of Wildlife. Lamb's work is part of numerous permanent collections, including the Pentagon, the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Museum and the Montana Historical Society. Jim Lamb is a member of the Northwest Rendezvous Group of artists, and his work was featured in the February 2001 issue of Southwest Art magazine. He is a two-time winner of La Quinta Arts Foundation's invitational plein air painting competitions.
