Description
A dramatic specimen of iron-oxide coated Red Quartz Clusters, collected in Morocco, mounted on a custom acrylic stand. The quartz crystals display rich red-orange coloring. The coloration is natural and due to iron oxidation and from Hematite inclusions within the crystals. Quartz, Silicon Dioxide, is the second most abundant mineral in the Earth's crust and is often hundreds of millions of years old. Quartz veins form during the closing stages of the formation of mountains, when open fissures fill with hot water. Excavated in the Tarya Mine, Tinjdad, Er Rachidia Province, Meknès-Tafilalet Region, Morocco. Crystal: 10.25"L x 8.25"W x 5.5"H Custom V-cut Acrylic Base: 7.25"W x 8.25"L x 4"H ; Country of Origin: Morocco
