Description
A Near Eastern bronze double-headed foal figure, c. 1000 - 800 BC, with suspension loop between the necks. Each is collared with indicated ears and domed eyes. 3 x 2 5/8 in (7.6 x 6.8 cm). With nice olive patina. Cf. Moorey, Catalogue of Persian Bronzes in the Ashmolean Museum, (Oxford, 1971), p. 233 and pl. 66, no. 428 for a near identical example from Luristan. Ex David Liebert.
