Pair of Italian Giltwood Sconces

mid-20th century, in the neoclassical taste, the two-light sconces each with a cello and other musical instruments on a pierced, scrolled backplate supported by a bowknot, the gilt-metal candle arms with foliate drip pans.

On one sconce, a knob on the cello has been reaffixed and so has the lower part of the bow. The other sconce is lacking a knob. Both sconces exhibit some old wood patches on their backs to reinforce the ribboning toward the bottom. Both have light scuffs, nicks and scratches as are to be expected with age, material and use. In overall good condition.
