Description
A GERMAN POLYPHON SINGLE COMB MUSIC DISC AND BELL BOX, LEIPZIG, 1887-1914, mahogany veneered over oak, the lid has incised flower at center, opening to an interior mounted with a chromolitho of cherubs playing instruments in a rocaille moonlit grotto, ratchet crank mechanism with start-stop knob below, the interior with a gilt finished based plate stamped "Polyphon," and a nest of six steel bells, number 157314; with four discs. Height: 7" Width: 10 1/2" Depth: 9 5/8"
Condition
In working order. One has some trouble playing. A panel on the box lid has shrunk slightly, some surface wear throughout but overall in very good condition, wear commensurate with age and use.
