Description
A LATE QING DYNASTY (1644-1912) CHINESE EXPORT LACQUERED MARBLE TOP PLANT STAND, EARLY 20TH CENTURY, in the Art Deco taste, the inset, hexagonal, highly figured brown marble within a band of relief cherry blossom tendrils and repeating beads, over a wide, pierced carved fruiting peach and leaf frieze, above a dramatically arched skirt carved with profuse flower blooms and leaves, joined to six dragon mask capital carved cabriole legs encrusted with flower blooms and tendrils, ending in pierced foliate feet, joined by a circular, pierced floret carved stretcher shelf. Height: 32 1/4" Diameter: 16"
Condition
Some dust debris, mild rubbing and loss of lacquer paint, craquelure of paint, general expected surface wear, but overall in very good condition, wear commensurate with age and use.
