Description
A FRAMED GERMAN HAND PAINTED PORCELAIN PLAQUE AFTER NATHANIEL SICHEL (German 1843-1907) PAINTED IN THE STUDIO OF FRANZ XAVER THALLMAIER, MUNICH, CIRCA 1910, the rectangular plaque painted in polychrome enamel of a gowned lady wearing a floral headband and holding a bunch of roses in her arms, marked on the front lower left corner with Thallmaier's red painted "artist," and titled in blue on the back "Flora, nach Sichel," plus gray "56," also retains original paper pricing label, plaque height: 5 5/8", width: 4 1/8".
Condition
The plaque with rubbing along the edges and minor loss to glaze at the lower right hand corner and upper left hand corner, possibly with very faint impressed manufacturer's marks on the back.
