A NAPOLEON III ORMOLU MOUNTED BIRCH ONYX TOP GUERIDON TABLE, SECOND FRENCH EMPIRE (1852-1870), the inset figured white onyx top with russet inclusion, within a pierced, gilt brass, repeating baluster gallery, over a break front flat skirt mounted with fleur-de-lis rinceaux scrolls, with quatrefoil acanthus floret ormolu mounted ends surrounded by repeating bead and laurel leaf repoussé bands, raised on Doric style columnar turned, tapered and fluted legs; the stop fluting mounted with ormolu lozenges issuing graduating bellflower blooms, on circular socles, terminating in splayed, tusk form legs, joined by an "X" form stretcher, centering a flowering finial. Some apparent repairs throughout. Mild dents and bends throughout ormolu mounts. Legs have had heavy repair. Has a slight wiggle. Wear to the onyx top with chips at corners, and general, expected surface wear throughout. Overall in good to very good condition, wear commensurate with age and use.
