Description
A LARGE GERMAN FLORAL ENCRUSTED AND PAINTED FIGURAL PORCELAIN VASE, UNDERGLAZE BLUE MARK, LATE 19TH/EARLY 20TH CENTURY, the basket weave modeled pear form body, encrusted with blossoming rose vines covering the reticulated neck and scrolled undulating rim, carried on the backs of three classically robed cherubs striding in different directions, underside enclosing underglaze blue paired arrows hash single arrow mark, impressed "562," possibly mark of Von Schierholz porcelain manufacturer. Height: 17 1/2" Diameter: 12 1/2"
Condition
Overall in good condition, some petal and leaf chips scattered throughout, minor paint flaking throughout, few kiln firing cracks, surface buildup in crevices.
