Description
French edition of this timeless map depicting the area in 1776. It shows Manhattan, western Long Island, parts of Staten Island and today's eastern New Jersey. New York City is just the southern tip of the island. Various forts are shown as well including Fort Washington in today's Harleem. From "The Life of George Washington". Tooley indicates that J.N. Buache is the map maker.
