Description
Roman, Imperial period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A fine cast bronze statuette of a horse, depicted striding forward, with one leg raised as if caught mid-prance. The horse may have been modeled after a larger statue that graced a public space in ancient Rome. The horse has a long tail and stands with its head slightly turned, its long nose given finely incised details. Size: 2" W x 2.45" H (5.1 cm x 6.2 cm)
