For your consideration here is the Silver Badge, marking the graduation for the Institute of the Railway Engineers, 1866. Silver academic badge supplemented with a crossed silver axe and anchor below the tail of the eagle. Silver, marked.

History of sales: On the auction Gelos in Moscow the same badge was sold for $850 (October 2005, lot 436 – 13 years ago !!). Russian Auction House Kabinet on auktion 3, lot 168, 2007 estimate the same order for $1300 and sold for $2.240.
