This lot consists of a framed, HAND DRAWN black crayon illustration on paper, HAND SIGNED with the monogram 'OFB' in the lower left. Titled 'Harlem' and dated '07-23-14' at lower right. Image depicts a ship docked in the Harlem river, with a group of small buildings lining the shore. There are letters and symbols written in pencil in several spots around the image. It is done in the Modernist style of Oscar Florianus Bluemner (German-American, 1867-1938). On the reverse side there is a largely illegible note, written in the same hand as the markings within the image, as well as the date, time, and words like 'Coal Foundry', 'Water', 'Light', 'Ship' and 'Coal Heaps'.

A label on the backboard of the frame reads, 'Oscar Bluemner (1867-1938), American Artist, Harlem, N.Y.C. July 23, 1914. 7:pm. NE. Black Crayon. 5' x 8', Henry Heiman. II.' There is a second label below the first with much of the same information.

Framed work measures approximately 11.25" x 13.75", with a site measurement of approximately 5" x 8". Piece is loose inside the matting and was removed for picture purposes.
