Rabbit Seasoning is a 1952 Merrie Melodies cartoon, directed by Chuck Jones. The cartoon finds a row of signs saying it's rabbit season ("If you're looking for fun, you don't need a reason. All you need is a gun, it's Rabbit Season!"). Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck again are arguing over which of them is “in season (it is really Duck Season, as Daffy says in the beginning), while Elmer Fudd tries to figure out which animal is telling the truth. Edition Size 500. Charles “Chuck†JonesIn a career spanning over 60 years, Jones made more than 300 animated films, winning three Oscars as director and in 1966 an honorary Oscar for Lifetime Achievement. Among the many awards and recognitions, one of the most valued was his honorary life membership from the Directors Guild of America. During the Golden Age of animation, Jones helped bring to life many of Warner Bros most famous characters-- Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Elmer Fudd and Porky Pig. The list of characters he created himself includes Road Runner, Wile E. Coyote, Marvin Martian, Pepe le Pew, Michigan J. Frog, and many others. In 1932, he got his first job in the fledgling animation industry as a cel washer from former Disney animator, Ub Iwerks. In 1936, Jones was hired by Friz Freleng as an animator for the Leon Schlesinger Studio, which later was sold to Warner Bros. Chuck Jones was one who experimented with new characters, new styles of humor, and graphic looks more than any other Warner Director. Jones will always be remembered for animating endless confrontations and creating brilliant dialogues between Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck and Porky Pig. Conversely, the popular Road Runner cartoons used no dialogue-- just an occasional subtitle, sign, or label as Wile E. Coyote showed an incredible ineptitude in how many ways one cant catch a Road Runner.
