Oceania/Polynesia, Hawaiian Islands, ca. 19th century CE. A richly-patinated ladle with a coconut shell as its bowl and a dark wood handle made from bent wood tied into a knot, forming a long, ellipsoid loop at its end. Size: 4.25" W x 13.55" H (10.8 cm x 34.4 cm); 15.85" H (40.3 cm) on included custom stand.
