Lustrous Qing Meiping or Plum Vase. Thick Chinese porcelain shaped into a traditional Meiping form, with a narrow base, wide body, narrow neck, and a small opening. The exterior is uniformly coated in a beautiful monochrome red glaze that shows an even thickness throughout. The red glaze creates a mottled effect around the rim which is likened unto the blushing of human skin. The clay is very fine, with a brilliant glaze finish that was applied by a meticulous craftsman.
