Impressive pair WMF Jugendstil, Britannia silverplate vases with original glass inserts. Each metal holder reveals in different poses the seated figure of a partially nude male admirer gifting flowers to a half nude maiden draped in flowing garments. Each holder bears the factory impressions of the letter B (Britannia metal), a diamond logo containing the running ostrich and WMF-G over a partially lined arch symbol, I/O (metal thickness) & OX (oxidized). The original 16 1/2 inch glass inserts are decorated with tall frosted lilies, wheel engraved detailing and hand cut scallop rims. Combined height is 20 inches. One glass insert has an external pinky size flat chip at the rim over a frosted area that does not disfigure the rim. Exceptional and choice pair with good patina.
