Description
Dandy Limoges style moonlit scenic vase with a flock of swallows pictured on one side and several ominous bats on the other interspersed with white clouds and Asian grasses. Done in 1882 by Nicholas Hirschfeld, the red clay vase stands 4 7/8 inches tall and is in excellent condition with no crazing. Marks include Rookwood in block letters, the date and Hirschfeld's monogram. Other initials appear near Hirschfeld's but we cannot make them out. Very nice.
