Description
French Gilt Bronze "Amorin" Clock. Gilt bronze demilune base with clock centered, surrounded by garlands, topped by draped cherub on flower bed. Raingo Freres, Paris. Circa 1830-1840. {Dimensions: 21 x 24 x11 inches.} Presented to the grandson of the Marshall Kutuzof by Napoleon III, on the reestablishment of "friendly relations between the two countries in the 1880s. Prince Kutusof, grandon of the Marshall, gave it as a wedding present to Countess Erica Rodolfovna De Boronowsky and Danish diplomat Jens Peter Mirner on November 3rd, 1918, in the Prince's palace in St.Petersburg.
