A mid Victorian gold, emerald and diamond pendant. The emerald and diamond star, inset to the central dome, with spiral surround and diamond hinged surmount. Length 2.8cms. Weight 8.1gms.

Condition

Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.

Converted from a brooch, clasp removed, pin converted to surmount with surmount diamonds later added.

Glazed panel to reverse with significant abrasion.

Diamonds fairly well matched.

Diamonds fairly bright.

Estimated total diamond weight under 0.10ct.

Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.

Emerald is a vibrant medium green, well saturated, with fair clarity and typical inclusions, some surface reaching.
