Description
Tradition is a watch brand by Sears, Roebuck & Company. A chain of American department stores that go back in time as far as 1885. The founder Richard Sears was a railroad station agent in Minnesota, when in the early 188o’s he bought a shipment of watches which were unwanted by a local jeweler. He sold the watches for a profit to other station agents, then ordered more for resale. So the Sears (Roebuck & Co) started off with watches!
Fast forward to the 1970s and you have the watch that is up for auction. Rest assured these where quality pieces built in Switzerland for the North American market.
Interesting note that the Yema watch of the same name is identical in every way even down to the case back. This leads us to believe that the watch is in fact produced by Yema as they used to sell watches in the USA under the name Lejour.
These watches are highly collectible and sought after.
Overall the watch is in great vintage condition from the dial to the case with only a small crack in the plexi.
This watch is powered by the famous manually wound Valjoux 7753 movement and has just been freshly serviced.
