Description
English Staffordshire polychrome pearlware jug, eagle perched on a cannon with the American flag inscribed, "Arms of the United States-E. Pluribus Unum" on the side and under the spout inscribed with "Free Trade and Sailors Rights". 6 3/4" H x 7 1/2" W x 6 1/2" D overall. Provenance: From the Robert Teitelman collection. Pictured, pre-restoration state, page 280 of "Success to America, Creamware for the American Market". Circa 1800-1820. Private East Tennessee Collection.
