Circa 1880 Lot of 2 Scarce Anamosa State Penitentiary Stereoviews by M. M. Mott.?Depiction of prisoners dressed in striped uniforms on flat bed rail cars being led through the prison gate. Guards are interspersed throughout the large group of prisoners.Birds eye view of Gothic Revival architecture of the Anamosa prison. Prisoners dressed in striped pants stand at attention in courtyard. Highwall wooden fence in the background.Each stereoview is printed on the reverse with Anamosa photographer, M. M. Mott's humorous graphic advertisement. Each photographic stereoview is mounted on slightly curved mount board which is about 7" x 3-7/8". Condition: occasional surface soiling, scuffs, edge bumps, and foxing spots.
