Description
Ancient Near East, northwestern Iran, Luristan, ca. 1200 to 800 BCE. A lengthy cast-bronze spear point with rounded shoulders, a prominent midrib, an extended shank with flared tips, and a bent tang with a button end. Both of the elongated leaf-shaped blade edges are still relatively sharp and terminate at a pointed tip. A wonderful example shrouded in layers of green, blue-green, and azurite patina. Size: 2.25" W x 20.4" H (5.7 cm x 51.8 cm).

Condition
Age-commensurate surface wear, very slight bending to overall form, loss to tip of blade, with minor nicks along tang and both blade edges. Light earthen deposits, nice green and blue-green patina, and scattered areas of azurite patina throughout.
