INSCRIBED by the artist on the half-title to "Mademoiselle Andree Clark" and signed "M Boutet de Monvel." Also gift inscription in French from Andree to her sister Huguette on the front endpaper. The cover of the book adds "et Rondes" to the title, the half-title page instead adds "et Danses" but the title page has neither.

Notes/Literature: Huguette Marcelle Clark (1906-2011) was an heiress and philanthropist, who became well known again late in life as a recluse, living in a hospital for more than 20 years while her mansions remained empty. She was an accomplished artist and musician, having studied under famous portrait painter Tadeusz Styka, and her paintings were exhibited at the Corcoran Gallery, Washington in 1925
