[Prison Break] Manuscript letter on paper, dated July 23, 1833, 3 pages, written by Maurice Browning of Mount Holly, NJ, detailing the escape and recapture of Joel Clough, convicted of murdering a woman who rejected him, and was the first prisoner to be executed in the state; Browning lived near the prison and was involved in the search for Clough, then interviewed him in his dungeon cell after townspeople caught him; Clough is one of New Jersey's most infamous criminals, and many believe his ghost still haunts the grounds of the Burlington County Prison, now a museum; offered with four other letters between Maurice and his familiars, all written in the 1830s; excellent condition
