Description
Oceania/Polynesia, Tonga, ca. 1950s CE. A beautiful wooden throwing club, hand-carved from hardwood, with a sturdy handle, a thick neck, and a bulb-shaped head with a hemispherical cap. The head displays dozens of slender incised grooves with two bands of smaller grooves enclosing the larger middle band. The exterior surfaces boast a beautiful lustrous light-brown patina. Custom museum-quality display stand included. Size: 5.25" W x 17.125" H (13.3 cm x 43.5 cm); 18.375" H (46.7 cm) on included custom stand.
