A Very rare, old and interesting wooden female sculpture from the HOLO peoples of Angola, Central Africa. This is a well weathered and very old example of an ancestor shrine idol. Featuring a stylized female shown seated with elbows on knees and hands laid elegantly on her upper chest. This wood sculpture is an antique example and has a deep well handled surface patina and an overall fantastic exaggerated style, very light weight and dry wood.An exceedingly rare and desirable example. Completely original untouched patina. Measures 12 inches tall. Not mounted and not very good balance.
Condition
Well handled and worn, sculpture base is eroded and no longer balances well.
