includes Blue Ocean, a peaceful water scene of birds flying over the sea with islands in the background, signed in bottom margin in pencil, title in Japanese, 2004, 49/60, Ray Morimura, with artist's red seal, and Tsukubasan Jinja, a beautiful shrine surrounded by geometric and abstract trees, signed in bottom margin in pencil, title in Japanese, '91, 29/50, Ray Morimura, with artist's red seal, identically framed under glass.
DOA 25.5 x 19 in.
Ray Morimura was born in Tokyo (1948). He graduated from Tokyo Gakugei University. His woodblock prints are characterized by the use of geometric forms to form stunning natural landscapes of famous temples, shrines, and beloved places in Japan. He is well established as a printmaker with regular solo exhibitions in Japan and the United States.
