MAN’S SILK BEAVER TOP HAT AND ORIGINAL TRAVEL CASE, hat with silk lining beneath brim, faced with French silk grosgrain, felted silk bands mid-crown, fully hand-sewn, interior lining silk gauze and silk moiré, supple leather facing, marked with "United Hat Co. Maker of high Grade Hats" label on interior, mesh button centered in the top of the crown allows for air circulation, very scarce large size, measures approximately 22 5/8", or 58 to 59 cm, or 7 1/4 to 7 3/8 hat size, with 5 5/8" H crown and 1 7/8" W brim, one traveling leather top hat coach case covered with period train and coach travel tags, the handled case lined with fully intact red velvet, with brass lock, substantial weight, approximately 14" W, 10" H. Hat in excellent condition, dusty and slightly soiled band, with one or two very small scuff marks on top of crown, one or two tiny moth nips to band, otherwise fully intact, without shattering or damage; case in very good condition, with fading to interior velvet, lacking leather top strap and key, with broken side loops, loose stitching on underside, soiled, dusty, and scuffed from wear.
