Description
DAISY IN CRISS-CROSS SYRUP PITCHER, blue opalescent, applied blue handle, period lid. Probably Beaumont Glass Co., possibly Hobbs, Brockunier & Co. Circa 1897. 6" H.
Undamaged with some light interior residue settled at the base.
Literature: Parallels Heacock/Elmore - Opalescent Glass From A-Z, p. 132, fig. 315.
Provenance: Property from the estate of Dr. Stephen Goodyear, Charlottesville, VA.
Catalogue Note: The loop handle of this syrup is very unusual and indicative of Hobbs opalescent items. This has caused us to questions the origins of this particular piece and perhaps the overall pattern.
