With two engraved frontispieces and 77 plates, 30 of which are folding maps (of 31, lacking map of Spain/Portugal.) Bound in full period tree-calf, hinges broken and gutters reinforced with cloth (boards holding, but hinges fragile), corners and spine-ends with loss, a couple of small green paint drops to spines. Contents with some light to moderate foxing and toning, a few instances of marginal tears or chips, occasional stains, Very Good. ***************************** An impressive work, well illustrated throughout with maps and plates. The section on America occupies around 100 pages in the second volume and includes folding maps of North and South America. [Sabin 44927; ESTC T81841]
