AMERICAN EMPIRE MAHOGANY SOFA, C1840, H 37", W 82", D 30":A GRAPE AND LEAF CARVED CREST WITH SCROLLING LEAF ACCENTS, AND SCROLL ARMS ABOVE A SERPENTINE LOWER APRON; WITH GREEN REPETITIOUS FLORAL UPHOLSTERY RAISED ON BRASS CASTERS. FROM THE ESTATE OF DR. HENRY AND GRACE STRICKER, MILFORD, MICHIGAN.

Condition

Staining to the upholstery, repairs made to back aprons. The front left caster is missing. There is a approx. 6" tear in the upholstery at the left arm. There is a approx. 2 " tear at the center of the seat. At the back of the sofa, much of the material is coming loose. There are multiple chips to the veneer. The stuffing appears to be old horse hair.
