Description
Magna Graecia, South Italic Colonies, Apulia, ca. 340 to 325 BCE. A fine wheel-thrown lekythos of a squat form with a ringed foot, a bulbous body, a rolled shoulder, a narrow neck with a flared, in-folded rim, and a petite applied strap handle. The exterior of the vessel is covered in a lustrous black glaze with scattered areas of faint silvery iridescence, and the underside of the foot is unglazed. Size: 2.875" W x 3.125" H (7.3 cm x 7.9 cm).

Condition
Surface wear and minor abrasions commensurate with age, minor nicks to glazing across body, handle, rim, and foot, and light roughness across most surfaces, otherwise intact and very good. Nice earthen deposits throughout, and light encrustations along foot.
