ROMPING FROGS.
Original modern anthropomorphized adaptation of an AESOP FABLE hand-drawn and painted by the British artist, J.H. Thornely (19/20th century).
Thornely transforms the animals of the original tale into comic half-man, half-animal creations.
Circa 1910.
Signed (lower right) and identified on verso by Thornely: page 37/7.
Watercolor on illustration board.
Dimensions: 13.75 inches x 9.25 inches.
Condition: good original condition, wonderful detail and subject.
Provenance: Westchester, New York estate.
