Item Details

Description

DESCRIPTION: A large Japanese, Meiji period, converted bronze censer. Composed of an overall 2 tone, light and dark brown patinated, bronze foundation. Features a waved, footed base, garnished with scrolled and embossed floral motifs. The base of the body of the censer is decorated with open work, arching dragon motifs, enveloped by clouds and flames. The globular body is onlaid with soaring birds, centered by a fluted neck and garlic head form rim, embellished with a coiled dragon. Fitted with 1 bulb socket and uses standard U.S. electricity.
CIRCA: Late 19th-Early 20th Ct.
ORIGIN: Japan
DIMENSIONS: H:43" L:12.5"
