Description
Wonderful figural tape measure in the form of a flounder. The fish appears to be brass with a silver plate. Tape measure does work and measures in inches. Did not extend the tape measure too far out so unsure of actual length. There is was appears to be an Asian mark on the back of the tail fin and it measures approx 2 1/4" long. From the collection of Louis Rauch who was the head designer at "Le Petie Musee" in New York before heading off on his own. His work was well known and had many celebrity clients. His work was featured in major publications including Vogue magazine. Included is a picture of his work in Vogue, picture is for illustrative purposes and not for sale.
Condition
Signs of plate loss, bit of shredding of the cloth at the beginning of the tape.
