Description

MATCHLESS MINIATURE STAND LAMP, opaque white, globular-form font embossed "MATCHLESS" and with 19 stars, ribbed stem and circular ring stepped foot, opaque white globular-form chimney-shade, period brass collar. Fitted with a period single-tube burner. Fourth quarter 19th century. 6 1/2" H to top of chimney-shade, 4 1/4" H to top of collar, 2 1/2" D foot.
Undamaged lamp and setup, stem with an underfill and chimney-shade rims with normal roughness, each as made.
Literature: Parallels Hulsebus - Miniature Victorian Lamps, p. 24, fig. 60.
Provenance: From the 50-plus year collection of the late Joan M. Wentz, Germansville, PA.

Condition

Undamaged lamp and setup, stem with an underfill and chimney-shade rims with normal roughness, each as made.
