**First Time At Auction**
Greece, Hellenistic Period, ca. 3rd to 2nd century BCE. A wonderful ensemble of five Hellenistic-era terracotta vessels. First is a pair of flat-bottomed unguents with piriform bodies, tubular necks, and rolled rims. A small aryballos has a flat base, bulbous body, and a flared rim. A large aryballos has a small footed base, a wide and bulbous body, a narrow neck, and a flared rim. Finally, a tall spindle vessel has a very narrow foot, a slender body, a tubular neck, and a slightly flared rim. A lovely gathering for any discerning collector! Size of largest: 8.25" H (21 cm).
Provenance: private Carlton collection, Los Angeles, California, USA, acquired between 1965 and 1980

Each vessel has expected surface wear and pitting commensurate with age, minor chips, losses, as well as discoloration, earthen and mineral deposits. Four of five vessels have old collection stickers.
