Description
A circa 1900 cast iron figural paperweight with skull and crossbones, painted accents, embossed lettering of 'WOW' and '338' on each side of the base, presumably a fraternal organization related memento. The skull and crossbones are common iconography to a number of fraternal organizations, including the Woodmen of the World. The origin of this piece is not definitively known, but there remains a chapter number 338 of the Woodmen of The World in Phenix City, Alabama.
