THE RED MAN'S WEST: TRUE STORIES OF THE FRONTIER INDIANS FROM MONTANA, THE MAGAZINE OF WESTERN HISTORY Selected and Edited by Michael S. Kennedy Published by Hastings House, Publishers, New York, 1965. This is number 56 of a rare, hand-bound signed collector's limited first edition of only 199 copies. American Indians on the frontier The buckskin covers were cut from different hides, then ingeniously hand-formed by George Seipp, one of America's most creative custom binders." Inscribed "For my friend, with respect and appreciation" at the top of the limitation page, hand numbered, & signed by Michael S. Kennedy at the bottom. The limitation page contains a full page of the special attributes of this very special book. I have provided a photo of the entire page. It can be read when enlarged. This copy has a replica etching by Ed Borein. It is missing the original etching by Wolfgang Pogzeba that originally came with the book. The buckskin and beadwork special bookmark is also missing.

Condition

Near Fine book in a clear plastic jacket that has been very well protected by the slipcase. The slipcase has a little wear at the base of the opening. The top of the open side has been hit & damaged, and the glue that holds the seam of the slipcase cover together has separated at the top for about 3".
