Description
An acrylic painting by Stanley L. Baker of Northern A Pacific steam locomotive on an Armstrong Turntable. The title on the from is "Armstrong Turntable". On the back is "Taylors's Falls, Minnesota 1948". This painting is from the Stanley Baker estate. He is best known for his railroad collecting value books. There is a S.L.B. and lantern in the lower left corner. The frame measures 30" by 20". The painting surface measures 25" by 16". Armstrong was a turntable manufacturer. The world's biggest "lazy susan". The detail is pretty good. It is locomotive #328, a 4-6-0. I am assuming that this painting was made from a photograph that was shot in 1948. There is some foxing to the surface. It looks like small brown spots.
