Description
Purse given by Marilyn Monroe to Tommy Noonan's fiancée. Red silk purse with red silk faux feathers, silk-lined, interior pocket stamped with the monogram "MM," single center shell clasp in silver metal, decorated with rhinestone clusters. Red silk double strap. Together with a reprinted lobby card for "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes" (20th Century Fox, 1953). Formerly in the collection of Tommy Noonan, who appeared with Monroe in the film. During a visit to the set, Noonan's fiancée met Monroe. The two got along well (they shared the same birthday). When the future Mrs. Noonan admired this purse, Monroe gave it to her.
