Arthur Miller Louis Vuitton Monograph Secretary Trunk & Antique Typewriter Given by Marilyn Monroe W/COA - This incredible Louis Vuitton Monogram Secretary Trunk was owned by Arthur Miller, who is considered to be one of the greatest American playwrights of the 20th century. This trunk is crafted of the signature Louis Vuitton monogram canvas trimmed with lozine, wood and brass hardware. The triple top latch closure opens via top hatch and front wardrobe door, revealing a yellow and beige canvas interior with multiple drawers, compartments, and desk. The trunk has a top storage tray featuring multiple compartments and two lids covering the side areas, eight fully lined, various sized drawers with double canvas straps and protective canvas covering to secure belongings during voyage, and two thin top drawers which were originally used by Miller for writing utensils. The largest drawer houses a black and gold antique Royal typewriter which was gifted to Miller by his wife Marilyn Monroe, which fits perfectly on the pull out desk. This piece was originally owned by Miller and was later acquired by The Incomparable Hildegarde in the late 1980s as part of a movie memorabilia auction, listed as "Arthur Miller Marilyn Monroe Secretary Desk", and is number 24 of her 29-piece Louis Vuitton and Goyard trunk collection. This trunk has a gorgeous natural patina throughout, and a clean and odor free interior. The purchase includes the key and luggage tag. Approximate original production date: 1928.
