Description
High quality, hand carved example dating to the early 1800's and possibly even somewhat earlier. Carved of light green Nephrite Jade with obvious pre-planned auspicious russet rivering evident in the mane. A naturally beautiful work of art. This depiction of entwined Foo Dogs is really sweet exhibiting the artist's interpretation of the obvious affection between the creatures. It is carved in full three dimension with great detail especially evident in the mane, the facial features, and appendages on the bottom. Drilled one time for suspension on a cord or chain and wearable if desired. Fine smooth polish over its entirety appropriate for its age. Qing Dynasty (1644 - 1911). Measures 1 3/4" tall X 1 3/8" wide X 3/4" thick. Weighs 54 grams.
