Rabbet size 24 x 20 in.; DOA 30.25 x 25.75 in.
Grateful patients at St. Lukeâ€™s Hospital in New York, NY commissioned the Coale to paint this portrait to hang in the halls of the hospital. However, hospital policy was only to display portraits of doctors, so the portrait remained with the artist.
