Description
A Chinese scroll painting by Tang, Hung/Hong (China-America, 1926-2018). In the manner of his teacher Zhang, Daqian (China, 1899-1983). Ink wash style. Depicting lotus flower and leaves. Inscriptions l.r. followed by signature and seal.Two artist seals l.l. Scroll: 92" x 28" Painting: 51" x 24". NOTE: Tang Hung had deep personal connections to the his teacher Zhang Daqian. His father, Tang Yi(1904–1972), known as Haolan, had also been his student, as had his wife Fung Bi-Che (1916–2009). Sotheby's New York is offering The Tang Hung and Fung Bi-Che Collection of Chinese Paintings &Calligraphy in September 2018. Provenance: From the collection of Richard Smith.
