Description
From a set commissioned by Mrs. C. E. Ilgenfritz of Sedalia Missouri in 1913. Each bears the blue scepter mark and lettering Germany under glaze, blue lamb mark for the decorator A. Lamm, Dresden, gold lettering states, 'Made Expressly for Mrs. C.E. Llgenfrith. 1913, fine raised gold border decoration of urns and scrolls with beading, the finely executed central image is an interpretation of the story of Leda and The Swan in which the god Zeus, in the form of a swan, seduces Leda. The Llgenfriths were a prominent family in Sedalia, Mrs Llgenfrith's daughter Dwan was a silent film actress.
