Native American, Southwest, New Mexico, Santa Clara Pueblo, ca. early to mid 20th century CE. A pair of signed miniature polychrome figures - a turtle with a wide open mouth and a puppy howling at the moon - both adorned with red, orange, black, white, and beige hues - the turtle with four schematic renderings of zoomorphs on its back, the dog with an abstract landscape depicted on its back. Both are signed Margaret on the undersides. Size: dog is 1.75" H (4.4 cm)
