A hand carved and painted full size, all wood carousel goat by the Dentzel Co., Philadelphia, PA, c. 1910. Painted in light brown shading to white, with realistic expression, horns, and beard, with glass eyes, with large everted ears, pink on the interior, blue, red and black saddle. In excellent original paint. Appraised by Jon Abbott, Carousel Corner, in 1992. With heavy wood base and stanchion for display. Expected wear and tear, loose joint at knee. As found, very rare early example. Purchased in 1968 at N. Flayderman & Co., Inc. of New Milford, CT. Original Flayderman catalog, receipts; bill of lading and appraisal included. 5'T x 57"L, weighs approx 130 lbs.
